Glazed Lavastone
Bastide washstands feature exclusive, custom made
worktops of glazed lavastone. This extraordinarily dense,
stable and durable natural stone is quarried in the volcanic
mountains of the Massif Central near the small town of
Volvic, famous for its natural spring waters.
Blocks straight from the mountain are cut, formed and
glazed five times with a special silica glaze which bonds to
the lavastone to produce a delightful crackle glaze finish
visible on the Ivory worktop. A matt Graphite glaze finish is
also available.
